Scarlet and Violet are the first fully open-world main-series games, with three storylines that can be tackled in any order. Terastallization lets any Pokémon temporarily change to a single Tera Type. The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk expansions added Kitakami and Blueberry Academy along with dozens more species.

Paldea, modelled on the Iberian Peninsula, contributes 120 species, ending at Pecharunt (#1025). Its Legendaries include Koraidon, Miraidon and the Treasures of Ruin, and its Paradox Pokémon reimagine older species as ancient or futuristic forms. The starters are Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly.
